Subsidy scheme for LED lighting at sports clubs

The government likes to encourage companies to do business in a more sustainable and environmentally friendly way. That is why the energy investment allowance has been created. This is a tax deduction scheme which means that an additional amount may be deducted from the profit made of the investments made. This is different for sports clubs and foundations. In this article, we would like to tell you more about the subsidy scheme for LED lighting and other sustainable investments at sports clubs.

Subsidy for the investment to reduce energy consumption

Sports associations that take measures to reduce their energy consumption can count on a subsidy of around 30% of the investment from the government. If your association also first has an energy recommendation made, the subsidy will be increased by 500 euros. However, this subsidy is only available for investments from 3000 euros. It is also possible for sports clubs to get a guarantee from the Stichting Waarborgfonds Sport (SWS) for a loan with which the investment can be made.

LED lighting for your sports club

Sports clubs can, of course, be subdivided into indoor and outdoor sports. Is it an outdoor sport and does a whole football or hockey field or tennis court have to be illuminated? Then LED lighting is a smart choice. Replacing the lighting in these high masts is, of course, quite a job, and because LED lighting lasts a lot longer than conventional lighting, it does not have to happen as often. But LED lighting is also a good choice for indoor sports; with this lighting, the athletes experience a lot less annoying.

Subsidy for LED lighting and more

This subsidy naturally applies to sports clubs that invest in ways to reduce their energy consumption. One of the options for reducing energy consumption is to replace the current lighting with LED lighting. In addition to saving on monthly energy costs, this brings many more benefits to him. For example, the light is of excellent quality, safer because the chance of burning out is nil and LED lighting is a lot more maintenance-friendly; these fixtures last a lot longer than conventional lighting. As a sports club, LED lighting as an investment to reduce energy consumption is a good choice. Of course, there are many more different options for reducing the energy consumption of your sports club. That way you can opt for better insulation, solar panels, and solar boilers. The best thing about your sports club is, of course, different for each sports club. Given that for many sports clubs the energy bill is around 10 to 20 percent of the budget, there are various ways to make a profit.

Conditions for the subsidy scheme for sports clubs

In principle, only sports associations and foundations that are members of the NOC * NSF are eligible for the subsidy scheme for Energy Saving and Making Sports Accommodation Sustainable. A budget is made available for this every year, including in 2018.
